Rare and fun finds, antiques, furniture and costumes included in TATC excess sale July 29 and 30

More than 1,000 pieces of custom created sets, furniture, antiques, costumes, props and décor housed in archive storage from various productions on stage at Theatre at the Center are being shared and sold during a two-day “stroll the showroom sale” July 29 and 30 in the ballroom of The Center for Visual and Performing Arts, 1040 Ridge Road in Munster. Proceeds will benefit future programming at TATC.

The end of the month July two-day sale helps for the preparation and planning at TATC while organizing and utilizing new and existing resources.

“With a 30-year-history, it results in not only stage bow memories of favorite shows and performers but also the gradual acquirement of many duplicate costumes, furniture, props and set pieces which we have stored throughout the decades that may now be passed along to other theater companies and our audiences as keepsakes and fun finds rather than hidden, needlessly stored and unused,” said Philip Potempa, director of marketing for The Center for Visual and Performing Arts.

Vintage clothing, century-old antiques, carefully and cleverly crafted props, both period and contemporary furniture, unusual and one-of-a-kind décor items are all part of the sale, which will be displayed and sold from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, July 29 and 30 in the ballroom of The Center for Visual and Performing Arts. Cash, personal check and credit cards will be accepted and items will be priced affordable.
