Creole Stomp
Sunday, March 10 | 3 pm
$35
Creole Stomp has captured the ears and the feet of Louisiana music fans across North America, including roof-raising performances at Theatre at the Center in 2018 and 2019.
Led by French-speaking Creole fiddler and accordionist Dennis Stroughmatt, Creole Stomp returns to the Theatre at the Center stage for this exclusive performance. The show promises a “rollicking mix of contemporary blues, swamp pop and traditional Cajun and zydeco dance tunes.”
Creole Stomp concerts have a reputation for bringing heat and passion with music full of emotion and energy. The band is informally known as “The Grateful Dead of Creole Music” for their well-oiled, dance-driven, crowd-pleasing marathon jams and improvisation. Traditional Louisiana Cajun two-steps, reel and waltzes are included, along with Creole blues and mazurkas for an unforgettable audience celebration reminiscent of a French Quarter party in the Big Easy.
