ACTING OUT

Calling all aspiring young actors! This popular acting workshop incorporates basic theatre terminology, character development, and theatre games - teaching students what it takes to become an actor, while building skill sets that benefit students in everyday life as well as on stage. Perfect for beginners and returning students, as materials are adjusted for skill level.

TATC CONSERVATORY

TATC’s conservatory offers actor training for performers ages 11 - 18, who have a desire to dive deeper into the exploration of stage performance. We encourage students to work as an ensemble creating a fun and inspiring atmosphere for creative exploration. Our program is dedicated to developing each student as an individual artist and honoring their own unique expression. It is designed to inspire students’ creativity, hone their acting skills, examine their performance techniques, while building their confidence. This workshop is structured for the busy tween/teen; we will meet three Saturdays (once a month) for 2 hours.  Each Saturday will focus on a different area of study for actors. Prerequisite: Acting Out, Shakespeare Shenanigans or instructor permission.

BROADWAY BOOT CAMP

This is a workshop for your actor to learn fully choreographed musical numbers, incorporating singing, dancing, acting and a little improvisation. Your triple threat will have a blast in this workshop!  There will be a performance on the final day.

INTRO TO STAGE COMBAT

Every play seems to have something- a slap, a push, a fall, a struggle. Come learn the basics of unarmed combat and SAFE ways to execute what is asked of the actor. We will cover the basics of this fighting style with the emphasis on safety, good partnering, and acting the action! INTERMEDIATE STAGE COMBAT

Building on what you have already learned, take the next step in stage combat.  Actors will learn throws, advanced punch and block combination along with contact punches. This is ideal for anyone who would like to further train their movement and stage craft skills, for those who want to want to push the envelope on what they can do in a role, and for those who have become hooked by stage combat after their first workshop (or all of the above). This workshop is taught by a professionally trained stage combat instructor.
Prerequisite: Intro to Stage Combat or 15 years of age or older.
